3。Similarprecautionsshouldbetakenaftertheautopsyorsurgicaltreatmentofcasesoferysipelas,ifthephysicianisobligedtounitesuchofficeswithhisobstetricalduties,whichisinthehighestdegreeinexpedient。

4。Ontheoccurrenceofasinglecaseofpuerperalfeverinhispractice,thephysicianisboundtoconsiderthenextfemaleheattendsinlabor,unlesssomeweeksatleasthaveelapsed,asindangerofbeinginfectedbyhim,anditishisdutytotakeeveryprecautiontodiminishherriskofdiseaseanddeath。

5。Ifwithinashortperiodtwocasesofpuerperalfeverhappenclosetoeachother,inthepracticeofthesamephysician,thediseasenotexistingorprevailingintheneighborhood,hewoulddowiselytorelinquishhisobstetricalpracticeforatleastonemonth,andendeavortofreehimselfbyeve
